Through our studios, we provide a unique, immersive experience that blends artistic expression with learning, offering a welcoming space for individuals of all ages to explore and elevate their creative potential. Meet The Owners
Shanton Bland
Co-owner
Owner of Art Conceptions LLC in Elyria and Retired NASA IT Specialist. Born and raised in Berea, Ohio and a graduate of Berea High School. After High School, he attended Central State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems and Business Management.
Has been in various stage plays, and film. Experience includes plays at Karamu, Cleveland State, The Doboma, Akron Civic Center, Black Repertory Theatre, and The Julia Morgan Center in Berkley California. Community work includes Puppeteering and creator of the puppet group Puppeteer Nubians with partnerships with the Cleveland Federal Executive Board, The Cleveland Public Library, Americana Sickle Cell Anemia Association, Red Cross, and the Lorain County Urban League to do puppet shows and workshops educating youth as well as adults on Sickle Cell Anemia, Nutrition, Reading, Self Esteem, and Black History.
Children's book author his first book, “Grandpa Nubian Grows Greens” which teaches children patience. His second book, “Grandma Nubian Goes Grocery Shopping” teaches children about nutrition. Ran for Oberlin City Council in 2002 where him and his wife Nola currently resides.
Playing Chess since the age of 13 and was lead coach of Elyria Youth Chess Club. He gives all his credit to God who has blessed him with these gifts.
Nola Bland
Co-owner
Nola “Peaches” Bland, co-owner of Art Conceptions LLC, is a Cleveland native who has
been dancing since age two. Her love for movement grew from family gatherings to performing with the Mighty Shaw High Cardinals Marching Band and later leading line dance at NASA Glenn Research Center.
Inspired by The Purpose Driven Life, she discovered her calling to teach and mentor youth through liturgical dance, dedicating over 20 years to ministry at her local church.
After retiring from NASA, Nola launched Art Conceptions LLC, creating a space where dance, wellness, and community thrive. Through Art C Studios, she teaches line dancing and liturgical dance to youth and adults and partners with others to offer yoga and wellness programs.
Guided by her belief that aligning passion with purpose opens doors, Nola embraces this new chapter with joy. She and her husband, Shanton Bland, co-own the studio and share one son, Noah, who resides in Los Angeles, California.
As she loves to say, “This chapter is my best chapter—let’s dance!”

Hi there! I'm a proud wife, mother of three, and MiMi to one amazing grandchild. By day, l've been dedicated to my career at Fortune Brands Innovations for over 24 years. But a couple of years ago, a new chapter began when I joined the Art Conceptions family.
I never imagined myself as a line dance instructor, but thanks to the vision of Nola Bland-and the encouragement of both Nola and Shanton Bland I took a leap of faith. What started with uncertainty has blossomed into one of the most fulfilling journeys of my life. I'm so grateful to be part of this beautiful space where movement, music, and community come together.
Whether you're brand new to line dancing or a seasoned stepper, I'm here to help you find joy, confidence, and rhythm on the dance floor. Let's dance, laugh, and grow together.
Shayla Joy
Yoga/Stretch & Fitness
Shayla Joy is a passionate yoga instructor and wellness advocate who believes that the practice of yoga is more than just poses. It's a pathway to courage, joy, and self-discovery.
Practicing yoga since 2015 and stepping into instructing in 2019, Shayla has guided students in building strength, finding balance, and embracing mindfulness both on and off the mat.
Deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ, Shayla weave's themes of gratitude, resilience, and self-belief into her classes. Her teaching blends creative sequencing, music, and a touch of humor, creating an uplifting and welcoming space for students of all levels.
Shayla has participated in several community dance events and is a faithful member of the Art Conceptions Line Dance Team.
Whether she's leading an intimate studio session, or sharing content online, Shayla's mission is simple: to help people feel their strength and find their joy.
